Services Tuesday For Mrs. Cora Backe Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 25, from Geest funeral chapel on Sperryville Road for Mrs. Cora McFarland | Backe of Slate Mills, who died the .Arlington Hospital at early Sunday morning, July 23, after an illness of some months. Her pastor, Rev. E. H. L. Snellings officiating. The Slate Mills Church Choir rendered two song selections, with Miss Jacquline Kilby at the organ. Interment was made in the family section of the Fairview Cemetery, Deceased, who was 66 years of age, was the daughter of the late George Booton Burke and the late Elizabeth' Woodward, his wife, of Rappahannock County. She was first married to the late Wade Jenkins, Rappahan, hock, and from this marriage she leaves one daughter, Mrs, James H. Sisk of Arlington
and one son, Robert William Sisk of Winchester. Later she married the late Thomas Me-' Farfand of Slate Mills and from this marriage she leaves four children, James William and Daniel Lee McFarland of Slate Mills, Mrs. Hawkins and Mrs. Andrew Milton Hawkins of Baltimore, Maryland. She is also survived by her husband, David Backe, of Culpeper, one sister, LL J. Mrs. I Robert Jenkins, Washington, Va., and two brothers, Charlie Burke of Culpeper and Hezekiah Burke of Winchester. . Active pallbearers were Sidney Cornwell, Raymond Cullen, Thomas Sisk, James Sisk, Burke, Jimmy Sisk, James Carl Seabright. Those serving as flower girls were Pauline Jenkins, Catherine Jenkins, Margaret Jenkins, Annie May Fox, Mildred Seabright and Dollie White.
